HIDE AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety anil Oj„ Mil., report as follows on their hides ami fikin i-alcd yesterdayWe lield our usual fortnightly Nile of wool, skins, hides, and tallow this afternoon. There n large attendance of buyers, and competition was keen. Wool (odilmvnttj only) sold v.ell at late rates. Sheepskins showed a ri.-o of Id. per lb., and for hides any ehanstc in price was in favour of sellers. CUll'skins were keenly competed for, and we topped the market with tho record of lod. per lb. for a line of 6lh. skins. Tallow was easier, in svmpathv with London markets. Quotations:—Wool; Orutobred, 71d. Ui 82d.; dead, 6jd. to 7.W.; black, 6Jd.; laiubs, Bd.; pieces, od. to 6jd,; locks, 4d. to 4Jd.

Levin and Company, Limited, report as follows regarding yesterday's sale: —We held our fortnightly salo to-day, wlien wo offered a small tot of wool, 25C0 sheepskins, 700 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool is boing held for tho sale on February 13. Skins: Strong competition at last sale prices. We quote :—Half-bred and line crossbreds, 7d. to 7£d.; medium ajid coarte orossbreds, sjd. to 7d.; dead skins, 4Jd. to 53d.; dead hosgots, 4id. to 51d.: spring lamb skins, 6d. to 2s. 9d.; crceil pelts, la. lid. to 2s. 9d.

Tallow: Easier, 2Rs. per ton; parcels lu shipping order, £27; tins, £20 to £22 10s.; roujrh fat, £16 6s. Horsehair: Is. to Is. 81d. per lb. Horns: ss. to If*. 9d, per hundred. Tlio attendance of buyers was very large, and prices for wool and sheepskins wore liar to Jd. higher than last, sale. LONDON MARKETS. Mossrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cabled advice from their London oflice:— Wool Sale;.—Sales continue active. Competition is brisk, and buying generally from nil quarters. For Merino wools, line quality, prices are rather higher, and for ■4easy crossbred wools suitable for America, prices are 2J per cent, higher. Tallow.—Thoro is a fair demand, but the market is unchangod. . Frozen Meat—Mutton and lamb are firm, but prices arc unchanged. There is a fair demand for small arrivals which clear readily.
