A-BELATED RETURN. Owing to tUe intervention of the Christmas holidays, the latest City Corporation return having to do with the tramways and electrical departments, only deals with thi' four weeks ended December 8 lii'-t. The revenue and expenditure account is as follows:— Tramway Account.—The gross revenue for the four weeks shows an increase of iMfili, and the working expenses an increase of <£1219, as compared with the corresponding period of last year. Tho total results from April 1 show increases in the gross revenue and working expenses of «£57G2 and respectively. After allowing for capital charges, there is a balance on the 30 weeks of operation of J.'53G, as compared with a debit balance of IEI2G last year. I'mrcr Supply Aceonnt. —The revenuo from'tho sale of current for tho four weeks shows an increase uf >£1-7, and the workins expenses an increase of .£2l. After allowing for capital charges there is a credit balance at December S of X'fJH, as compared with .£517 last year. Tramways and Power Supply.—The net result to this date on combined accounts is a credit balance of .£USI. as compared with «£l'il last year, an increase of .£7(io. Appropriations "amounting to .C 2931 for special expenditure on works not capitalised have been mode, leaving a debit balance on revenue accounts amounting to .£1773. Traffic Statistics.—The number of passengers carried for the four weeks amounted to 1,797,(181. an increase of 5-V.l.iS o" last year. The total passengers carried to December 8 amounted to 15,0(1,621, or S!ili,!)2B more than last year. The car milc.s run to date show an increase of J2.559 car miles. The average trnllic revenue per car mile on city lines amounted to 11.13 d., an increase of ,55d. per car mile.
