Balls were inclined to keep low. The park has been wonderfully improved and now presets u. picturesque appearance. The playing field is more circumscribed, and is of about 150 yards in diameter. The wicket is hard and dry, and of good appearanco, but may tend to crumble towards the end of the match. The out-field is excellent. An additional pavilion has been erected to seat 400 others. The pavilions are much altered and improved, and a quarter of the circumference of tile ground are now- taken up by these. There is now a fine scoring board on the south side giving full particulars. Tlio Canterbury team is con.' sidered fully representative. The game commences to-morrow. The weather is hot and thunderstorms are threatening.
