The deceased was a promineut Forester, but was best known outside of Wanganui by his enthusiasm in fire brigade work and contests. The Education Board last night adopted plans for now office buildings to cost .£3OOO, which will be erected on the old Collegjitc School site next to the Technical College. The board also decided to transfer the staff of the second day department of the District Hig'a School to the Tech'iical College, which opens next week, not only as an institution for purelv technical instruction, but as a secondary day college as well, open to all bovs and girls whoso parents are unable tn take advantage of the facilities afforded by the existing colleges Mr. \V. Armour, M.A., R.Sc. formerly on the staff of the 'Wanganui Collegiate School and the Dunedin High School, has been appointed principal with an excellent staff to asa'st him, and as the college has also one of the mo-t up-to-date ;ind extensive equipments in New Zeal.md, it starts its now career untler bright auspices.
