Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale, held yesterday, as follows: A good yarding of cattle and sheep came forward. Bullocks sold well, hut sheep met rather a dragging sale. At th; Addington live stock market today there were moderate entries of stock, except store sheep, which were again yarded in larg.3 numbers. Fat cattle were easier, and fat lambs firmer. Fat and store pigs showed a sharp advance in prices. Store sheep sold well. Fat wethers maintained last week's rates, but fat ewes were easier. There wos a. good demand for store cattle and good dairy cows. There was a larger entry of store sheep than last week, there being a good representation of all classes, lambs forming the largest proportion. The supply, though so large, was not beyond requirem;nts, and thcro was a complete clearance at advanced rates. The quality of the lambs was not equal to that of last wsek, and consequently the rateage per head was not so high. Wethers were perhaps hardly so firm, but there was a, fcen demand for ewes, and yonng lambs sold at an advance. Forward rape lambs made Us. 9d. to 12s. 3d.; extra, 12s. sd. to 12s. 9d.; and others, 9s. 6d. to 10s. 3d.; culls, Ss. to 6f. 6d.; four and six-tooth wethers, 14s. 6d. to ,15s. 6d.; small halfbrcds, 11s. 6d. to 135.; four-tooth wethers, 13s. to 14s. 6d.; two-tooths, 10s. 5;1. to 135.; four-tooth ewss, 13s. to 18s. Bd.; two-tooths, 15s. to 195.; inferior, 12s. to 135.; six-tooths, 16s. Bd. to 19s. 6d.; four, six, and eight-tooths, 15s. 10d. to 17s. Jd.; two, four, six, and eighttooths, !3s. to 165.: sound-mouth, to 155.; merino ewes, 6s. sd. to Bs. 6d.; ewes, with lambs, Bs. Bil. to 11s. sd. (all counted). Tha entry of fat lambs totalled 2577, the greater proportion of which were of prime quality, but a few of tho lots were not well finished, and tl'.cy were purchased by graziers. There was an active (bmand, both on the part- of exporters and butchers, and prices were somewhat fwmer. The range of priras for lambs purchased for freezing was 13s. 10d. to 16s. lOd., and n. few up to 17s. 9d. Butchers' and graziers' lots uiada 12s. to 16s. Id. The operations, of a buyer for an Australian meat export firm assisted to firm the prices for lambs. Tl\3 yarding of fat sheep was somewhat larger than last week, and the supply of ewes formed a greater proportion, so that they consequently eased off in price. Fat lambs: A total of 685 was penned, being an increase of 185 on last week's total. At the beginning of the sale, prices showed «n advance on Inst week's rates, but towards the. finish competition was not so keen, and prices receded somewhat.
