JUNIOR CADET CONTROL. (By Teleerarh—Press Association.) Timaru, January 24. The junior cadet officers of the North and South Island now in the trainingcanip here, at a meeting passed resolutions protesting against the attacks oil the junior cadet system that hayo appeared jn some papers, and opposing (1) the cadets being controlled by the Dofence Department; and (2) the substitution of local for central control. The resolutions also affirmed that- in the interests of education and defence the Departments should be kept separate, and expressed complete confidence in the present administration of the Junior Cadet Department, and appreciation of the excellent work done on behalf of cadets by the headquarters staff.
