PUBLIC HEALTH.
HOSPITAL nOARD MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday, Mr. H. C. Kirk presiding in the absence of the chairman (Rev. W, A. Tlvans). Also present were: -Messrs. .1. W. M'Kwan. D. Robertson, .1. Trevor, fi. Nash. W. Tompsift, O. London, V. T. Moore, H. Baldwin, J. Godber, W.'Galloway, J. E. I'ilzgeraid, D. '"M'Laren, 13. K. Gardener, the Rev. H. Van ptaveren, and Miss M. Kichiiiond. JiCavo ot absence ivas granted to Messrs. I). Fletcher, J. Smith, and A. H. ]lindmarsh. The Public Health C'ommitteo reported that during the four weeks ended Jajitiary B, 1912, Insjioctors Jieed and York had been responsible for, 37 investigations, -10 disinfections, 2.'l revisits. Coses were reported during the month as follow:—Scarlet fever, IS; diphtheria, 9; tuberculosis, 7; enteric fever, 2; blood poisoning, 1. Tho following places were visited:— Rona liay (six times), Levin (twice), Takomaru, Maiiakau, ]'a!uiutonui, Te Horo, Makara, Ngaio, and Day's liay (each once).
