ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
LAD'S FEET BADLY CRUSHED. (By Tclesrapli--Press Association.! Cliristchurch, January 22. Shortly before noun to-day a lad named Stevens, aged 15, whoso parents reside at. Walyole Street, Waltham, had both foct badly crushed by bring jammed against the wharf by the Mararoa. Iho bo.v had gone to Lyticlton with two or three companions, and was fishing over tlie edge of tile wharf. The qunrtcniiasber of the Mararoa had warned the bovs three or four limes, but they had taken no notice, and when the wind swung the vessel against the wharf ho was jammed. This is lhc second accident of the kind, as about tigWw months ago a young man named tiriUitlis lost a foot thro ash being jammed against the wliarf by tlie Moeraki. ,It is suggested that tlie practice W hsling between lhc stumps and the wharf should be dealt with by a Harbour Board by-law. FARM HAND FOUND DEAD. Gisborno, January 22. Alfred Ilall, a single man, aged 4il,_ employed by >lr=. \\\ Cooper, of Wainm, was found dead in a bunk this luormng.
