In the 220 yards raco at the Australian swimming championship carnival Hard\riek (Now Soutli Wales) boat Kingbury (West Australia) by a baro touch in 3min. 41sec. In the inilo, Longworth (New South Wales) was first, Springfield (Queensland) second, and Moon (South Australia) third. J.ongworth won easily by 50 yards in 25ima. 30 2-sssc. THE WELLINGTON CLUB. : The heats for the sccond distance ol tho President's Cup, under the auspice: of tho Wellington Swimming Club, 10( yards, were got off last Thursday eveninf at the To Aro Baths. Also started: J. Forsyth (lOsec.), V. L. Allen (15sec.), H. M, Mullins (Ssec.). Third heat: R. J. Grimmett (21see.), 1 A. M. Farnall (25see.), 2; S. Murrell (Ssee.), 11. Time, 80scc. Also started: K. The final \vas swum on-Friday evening, and, contrary to expectations, a first-class finish resulted. Grimmett (21scc.) was first; D. 'Martin (Msec.), second, and T. Woodcock (20sec.), third.
