FALL FROM A TRAMCAR. A ir.r.n'io:! man named Jas. Lang, a chef, residing at 14 Constable Street, accidentally fell off a tramcar near the Basin Iteservo on Saturday afternoon, and sustained concussion of the brain, and severe bruises about the body. Ho was removed to tho hospital, where ho regained consciousness, and at latest advices was progressing favourably. An elderly woman, CO years of age, employed as a servant in a private family in the city, was conveyed to the hospital yesterday suffering from tho effects .of lysol poisoning. She was alono in the house at the time, and before reaching a state of collapse she telephoned for aid, and was attended to by Dr. Jf Gavin and a nurso before being removed to the hospital. Inquiry at the hospital last evening elicited the fact that the woman was then semi-conscious, but was still in a low condition. Somo excitement was caused in Deo Street, Island Bay, early yesterday afternoon, when a horse owned by Mr. MUride, of Dos Street, on which a small boy was having a ride, suddenly bolted. The animal ran into a fence and turned a complete somersault, injuring; itself so severely that it had to bo destroyed. Tho boy was badly shaken, but was otherwise unhurt. ___
