She herself had been reduced almost to a skeleton, and her sister had died under the treatment. The doctor called in had suspicions of foul play, and caused Mrs. Hazard's arrest. | John Herbert, an uncle of the girls, declared that lie believed the body lie saw in the coffin was not that of his niece. He made no complaint, because he knew tho girl was actually dead.
