FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRICES., Only a light cargo of fruit was brought forward from Sydney by this week's steamer. A few pears commanded 20s. to 235. fid. per case, grapes ss. to lis., pineapples ss. to Gs., and Messina lemons brought 15s. per ease. Tomatoes aro now arriving in larger quantities and prices arc coming down accordingly. Rutt-grown offerings brought 7s. Gd. to Bs. Gd. por half-case, and Nelson-grown Gs. to 7s. per half-case. Grapes from Lower Hutt were quitted at Is. Gd. to Is. 7d. per lb, and from Nelson Is. Id. to Is. sd. per lb. Strawberries sold at 9d. to Is. 3d. per box, blackcurrants at Gs. 6d. to 7s. Gd. per case, apricots ss. to Gs. per case, goosoberries 4s. Gd. to ss. per case, anil nectarines 4s. 6d. to Gs. per case, according to grade. Cooking apples made ss. Gd. to Gs. Gd. per case, and .dessert apples Gs. 6d. to 7s. per case, whilst raspberries brought Gs. to 7s. per bucket. Vegetables are in good supply. Potatoes ara arriving from all parts of the province, and are selling at from 3s. Gd. to 4s. Gd. per cwt. Local-grown onions are now arriving, imd bringing ..CI3 per ton. Other vegetable prices are: Cabbage 2s. to 4s. per sack, cauliflower 7s. Gd. to 10s. per sack, carrots 3s. to ss. Gd. per sack, turnips 2s. to 35., parsnips Gs. to 7s. per sack, beet 4s. Gd. to ss. per sack, rhubarb 2s. por dozen, marrows 4s. Gd. to ss. per case, cucumbers 2d. to Gd. each. Eggs are dull at lid. per dozen.
