Ho spent twenty-five years in mission work in New Guinea. SIR JOHN MURRAY SCOTT. (Rec. January 18,-11 p.m.) London, January 18. Sir- John Murray Scott died suddenly during a visit to Hertford House. He inherited from Sir Richard Wallaco, and was instrumental in securing the priceless Wallace art collection (which is at Hertford House) for the British Museum. Sir John Edward Arthur Murray Scott was born at Boulopne-sur-mer, Fiance, on February 23,. 1847. He was created Ist Bart, in 1809, and K.C.B. in 1908. He was educated at the Marlborough College, also at Sorborne, Paris, and in Germany. He became a barrister-at-law, in 1860, and was private secretary to the late Sir Richard AVallace.
