CLEARANCE Bl" DRASTIC ACTION, The rabbit p«t is a notoriously serious problem many farmers have to face, but not all of lliem bike drastic and decisive action in endeavouring to abate tho nuisance. Less than, three, years ago, says the "Atatawa. l'.nsig:t," an eastern district farmer purchased a 1000-acre block near .the hill country. He found that it was literally,over-run with rabbits and tha i r ieed practically destroyed. Ho came (o the conclusion that there was no room for sheep until the rabbits were exterminated, so he put on trappers, poisoners, and empbyed every 'method he could think of to abate the nuisance. His first year's tally was 30,000 rabbits, the second year's 532, and now his ground is clear of the pest and bis sheep have- plenty of pasture.
