SHANNON ITEMS.

One of the oldest colonists and a pioneer of the Moutoa district, Mrs. Janet Saunders, died at the residence of her win, Mr. Aiex Saunders at Moutoa on Tuesday last.. Deceased, who was aged 7.5, had onjoyed robust health until about a month ago. The late .Mrs. Saunders was a native of Thrums (Kirriemuir), Scotland, and came to New Zealand with her parents, Sir. and Mrs. David M'Jlardie in the ship Lady Nugen/ in 18(1. In ISO'fi she married and moved from the flntt where her father was farming, to Featherston. In 1863 Mr. and Mrs. Saunders and family went on to Moutoa, where she resided ever since.
