Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Jolnisonville sale as follows: —A heavy yarding of iirime bullocks and sheep ea-mc farwaril, and sold readily at late rates. ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.! Christchurch, January 17. At Addington to-day there were moderate yardings of nearly all classes of stock, and a good attendance. Fat rattle showed no change, store sheep and fat lambs sold well, and fat sheep opened at last week's rates, but cased off fiwirds the end'of the sale. Pigs were in keen demand. ~,.,, Sheep were again entered in fairly largo numbers, wethers forming the large proportion. All clashes of lambs, especially those ready for rape, were m keen demand, and prices showed a further advance. Tho few ewes offered also sold well. Forward wethers sold well up to late'rates, but halfbreds, which were more numerous than any other class, were not so saleable, and, for these, prices were somewhat easier. Best ranc lambs m.ido 12s. 9d. to 13s. 6(1.: good, 12s. to 12s. 6d.; medium.'lis. to Us. 9(1.; smaller, 9s. 9d. to 10s. 6d.: eullc, 7s. lCrl.: small 2-tooth ewe--, Us. 6d.; 2, 4, and 6-tooths. 15s. 7(1.; young cull ewes, 10s. to lis.; full-mouth merino ewes, 7s. 10d.;' ewes, with lambs. 9s. 3d. to Us. 7d. (all counted); forward 4 and 6-tooth wethers, lEs. to 165.: 2-tooths, Us. 6d. to 12». 3d.; slna.ll culls, Oi. 6d. to 10s. 9d. There was an entry of 2680 lambs, and both condition and quality showed a considerable improvement over late yardings. There was better competition ill conseqnenco of the larger supplv. the exporters bidding more freely. There wa.s practically r.o improvement in the priceocr pound, the higher range of values per head being due to the better ouaHty. There were a few unfinished lots, and these were bought by graziers. Best lambs made 14s. 6d. to 175.: and lighter. 12s. lOd. to l's. The yarding of fat sheep was a moderate one in point of numbers, but included some good lines of wethers and ewes. The supply was rather, more than-, sufficient for the butchers, and prices showed practically no change at the opening of the sale, but wethers cased off towards the close. A few lots of. wethers were bought fir export. The rnr.gc of prices was:— Prime wethers, 17s. 6d. to 215.; others, 12s. 6d. to 175.: prime ewes, 15s. 6d. to 18s. 6d.; extra, to 205.: others. 11s. to 155.; merino wethers, lCs. 6d. to 14s. 6d. There were only 180 head of fat cattle penned, all being local entries. The Duality was chiefly medium, and tho sale dull, though prices wero firmer. Steers made £7 2s. 6d. to £13 lCs.; heifers, £5 ss. to £9 &<:.; eows. ■ £5 10s. to £8 ?a. 6d. (equal to 255. to 295. per 1001b.). Teal calves uiado *!?. 6d. to 575. 6d., according to size and quality. A small yarding of store cattle was composed, chiefly of old cows. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunodin, January 17. At Eurnsidc to-day 194 fat cattle were yarded. A fair number of good quality' bullocks were forward, but the larger number consisted of heifers and eows. The ealo opened with prices for bullocks at about, last,week's rates, but cows and heifers were hot so well rompetcd for, and were easier in price. Towards the end of the sale values declined still further. Extra prime bullocks, £13 10s. to £14 10s.: good, £10 10s. to £12; light, £7 Ite. to £9 10s.: best cows and heifers, £3 10s. to £9 12s. 6(1.; good £7 ss. io £3 55.; light, £5 10s. to £6 10s. Fat sheep: 2401 penned, which proved to bo more than equal to the demand, and, in consequence, prices declined 6d. to Is. per head for wethers, and Is. to Is. 6d. for ewes. The quality was un to the average. Kxtra prime wethers, heavy, 20s. to 21s. 9d.: medium weights, 18s. to 195.; light and unfinished. 15s. to 175.; extra prime heavy ewes, to 20s. 9d.: medium weights, 16s. to 2k. 6d.; light, 13s. to 145.; aged, Bs. to IPs. Fat lambs: 490 penned. The nualitv was not equal to that of last week. Owing to small supply prices showed a slight advance on last week's rates. Tlest 15v to 16s. 9d.: good, 13s. 6d. to 14s. 6d.; li-]i» and unfinished. 10s. to 12s. 6<l Pigs: About 80 were penned. All sorts were m demand. Suckers, slips, and stores were strongly competed for, thero being very few forward, while porkers and baconers realised good prices. Suckers lis. to 145.; slins, 16s. to 205.; stores, to 265.: porkers, 365. to 425.; baconers, 45s to 505.; heavy do., to 70s.
