OPAKI RIFLE CLUB.
The Opaki Rifle Club carried out trophy corupetitiqns on Thursday and Saturday last, at 300, 500, and 600 yards ranges. Coloured figure targets were' used, ■ tho bull's-eye being 8 inches at 300 and 18 inches at 500 and GOO yards. The Thursday squad was favoured with ideal conditions, and three "possibles" were recorded, but the Saturday men were faced with wind and rain and their competition was declared closed at 500 yards. M'Gregor, 20—19—G—51; T. Evans, 23—16—G—(5; 11. Tl. King, 21-IG-2-12. Three olhers retired after firing at 300 yards.
