"RADIUM " LIGHT.
A company is now being formed in Wellington to purchase the New Zealand rights of the radium light, which i.-i claimed to be a. cheap and very economical process of utilising petrol gas (for light and heat), which has bmn invented by Mr. Gilruth. brother of Mr. J. A. Gitruth. at one time Chief Vctcrinariaji to the New Zealand Uovernment. The apparatus is simplicity itself. It merely consists of au accumulator and a gasometer. Indeed, the whole process, which is automatic, is embodied in the gasometer. As toon'as a jet (or a. number of them) is turned on the action starts. The emission of the gas through the pipes acts on a cleverlycontrived tubs-valve containing a tiriy bucket on a swivel. As soon as the valvs is nuslicd up to a certain level, the bucket spills its quota of petrol into tho car-burr-stter, which at once transforms it into gas, which is t-aid to give a particularly brilliant light, at a minimum co.-t. Mr. Mack .lost, who is the vendor, has fitted up a plant at the office of Messrs. (iualtcr, Dyke?, and Co.. whoro it may be inspected by anyone interested.
