Towards this amount about.Cl7o was raised by subscriptions and entertainments, nnd a .175 subsidy was received from the Government. To enable tho contract to be carried out,, the Town Board advanced .£lO. It is estimated that about .£l5O more will bo needed before the baths are lit for use, and a public meeting will be called shortly to consider means of raising this amount. Local anglers report that - trout are plentiful in the Wairarapa Lake. Several of the bridges under the care of the. The Lower Tauherinikau Bridge (between Featherston nnd . So far no further steps have been taken with regard to carrying out the Moroa water-race extension scheme to bring water from the Moroa water-raced to tho Lower Valley. Tho loan of ,£3500 raised for the purpose was placed on fixed deposit about twelve months ago, and became duo last month. The. County Council on Friday decided, to rc-Vicw the term for six months,
