REORGANISING.
THE PETONE BOROUGH STAFF. Matters affecting the staff of the Petone Borough Council camo before that body last evening. Resolutions passed by the council during the absenco of the Town Clerk and Engineer at a meeting in committee, held on January 12, were adopted as follow:— (1) That tlio report of the Staff Committee bo adopted, aiid that immediate effect bo, given thereto. , (2) That the staff continue in office and draw lip conditions defining the duties of the office staff (with the exception of the 'engineer), and' report lo the council at earliest convenience. (3) That advertisements be inserted in> the three Wellington papers and the "l'etone Chronicle," inviting applications for the position of: (a) Town Clerk and treasurer at a salary of £275 per annumno outside work permitted; (b) an assistant Town Clerk at a salary of -CISG per annum; (c) a lady typist at a salary of X 52 per annum, with annual increment.
