ENSILAGE.

EXPERIMENT WITH CALIEORNIAN THISTLE. - The highly unpopular , Californian Thistle is being treated for ensilage in tho south Ly way of- experiment. The experiment is being carried out by Mr. Dibblo of the Melds Instruction staff of the Agricultural Department on the fnrin of Mr. C. Anderson, at Balclutha. The stack in question is being built entirely of the thistle, which had grown so large and heavy that it was cut with a reapor and binder. Arrangements have been made for several more stacks about tho district. In another. stack wheat oats and Californian thistle have been used.
