Several of tho miners' leaders are urging a peaceful solution and round-table conference. Many of tho employers aTe willing to givo the minimum wage in abnormal places, but not a general minimum wage. ADMIRALTY'S COAL. London, January 12. Hundreds of men are working day and night constructing a coal depot at Chatham dockyard to hold 30,000 tons. COAL MINING vSTOCKS. London, January 12. Goal mining stocks have risen 3s. today on the London Stock Exchange. [This market movement seems to indicate that tho British coal miners will not engage in a strike.] THE ACTORS' UNION. Melbourne, January 13. A meeting of theatrical managers decided to contest tho registration of the Actors' Union. It is stated that many actors who arc unwilling to join have been subjected to intimidation.
