— * — FEDERAL MINISTER'S VIEWS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, January 12. Mr. Milward, manager for tho Pacific Cable Board, laid before Mr. Eraser (Postmaster-General of the Commonwealth) tlio views of the board regarding a new cable to New Zealand, and invited the Commonwealth to express an opinion where the landing at this end should be. Mr.-Eraser said that he anticipated the adoption of a more direct route than that at present.
