—^- DESCRIPTION 1 OF DESIGN, /The Royal Warrant granting armorial cjnsigns and'supporters to the Dominion of Now Zealand has been received, and' is published in the current Gazette. George tho Fifth, by the Grace of God, of tho United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond (he Seas King, Defender of the- Faith, Emperor of India, to Our Right Trusty and Right Entirely Beloved Cousin and Councillor Henry 'Duko of Norfolk, Earl Marshal, and Our Hereditary Marshal of England, Knight of Our Most Noble Order of the. Garter, Knight Grand Cross of our Royal Victorian Order: Greeting. Whereas his late Majesty King Edward tho Seventh, by and with tho advice of his Privy Council, was pleased to issue his Royal Proclamation,'bearing dato thp; 9th day of September, 1807, ordaining, declining, and commanding that tho colony of New Zealand and the territory belong-, ing thereto .should bo called and known.* by the title of tho Dominion of New Zea-' [ land: And for as much as it is olir Royal I Will and Pleasure that for-the-greater honour and distinction of tho said Dominion of New Zealand -certain Armorial Ensigns and Supporters should' be assigned thereto: Know Ye, therefore, that We of Our Princely-Graco and-Special Favour have granted and assigned and by these presents do grant nnd assign for the Dominion of New Zealand the Armorial Ensigns and Supporters following, that is to say:— '' , "Quarterly: Azure and Gules on a Palo „ Argent three Lymnhads Sable, in the first Quarter four Mullets in Cross of the Inst each surrounded by a Mullet of the second '(representing the Constellation of tho Southern Cross), in the second Quarter a Fleece, in tho third a Garb, and in th« Fourth two Mining Hammers in Saltino all. Our Will and Pleasure therefore is that you Henry Duko of Norfolk, to .whom tho cognizance of matters of this nature doth properly belong, do require and command that this Our Concession and Declaration be recorded in Our College of Arms in order that Our Officers of Arms and nil other Public Functional ios whom it may i concern may take full notice and have knowledge thereof in their several and respective departments.
