Ono ounce gelatine, 1 pint water, 2 lemons (thinly pared rind and juice), sugar to taste, i or 3 whipped white of eggs, j Soak the gelatine in tlie water, then dis- ! solvo over the lire with the sugar and lemons. Boil gently 3 minutes, strain, and leave till setting, then add the shltly whipped whites of eggs. Whisk until it becomes tho consistency of sponge. Put it lightly into a glass dish. FOB TO-MOKROW. A weddin" of considerable local interest was celebrated at St. Paul's Methodist Church yesterday afternoon, when Miss Alice Cutuiinglianic, eldest daughter of Mr. J. Cuuninghamc, of Palmerston, was married to Mr. Arthur Harris, son of Mr. John Han-is, of Blenheim. The Eov. Spsr.co was the oiGciating minister. Ihe bride was attired in a gown of silk radianta and iluchesso satin, with the u=ual veil and orange blossoms, and was ntttmded by her two sisters, the Misses Myrtle and Vera Cunninghame, as bridesmaids. Both these young ladies wore frocks of creaiii slrincd voile. Mr. George Anderson, of Blenheim, wa.s best man, and Mr. Horace Cumuiiglianie acted as groomsniitii. A large number of relatives and friends were present , Wedding at Masferton. A wedding of great local interest was celebrated at St. jlatthew's Church, Mastertou, yesterday, wnoii Mr. Alan C. Cameron, of Civitlcpoiut Station, son of Mr. Jjutictm Cameron, oi iioroa, Ureytjwu, was married to AUss ivatlileen Mereuytii Meredith, youngest daughter of Mrs. .Meredith, "Llandafi," Mastciton. The church was prutnly decorated by friends of the bride, and was hiled by ii,any relations and guests. Tho curemoiiv was periormed by tile licv. 11. Watson, M.A. The bride, who was given away by. her brother (Mr. J. M. Meredith)," worp a beautiful gown of cream satin with long train, trimmed.-with orange blossom and exquisite rose-point lace (the gift of her mother). A pearl girdle, with tassels, was worn round the waist, and her tulle veil was arranged over a coronet . of orange blossoms. She carried a kuun\ict of choice liowers, the gift of tho bridegroom, and.was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss Uraci: Camwoii (sister of the bridegroom). Miss Kathleen Beard, and two little girls, Miss Eileen Sladden (niece of the bride), and Miss Marjorie Goring Johnston (nieoc of the bridegroom). Tho elder bridesmaids were dressed in pale blue satin, veiled with ninon, the skirts caught up at the waist with a large pink .rose. They wore large black tagel straw hats, trimmed with pink rows, and carried lovely bouquets of pink floweiß. The two little maids looked dainty in white embroidered iniisiiu frocks, trimmed ..with pale blue satin ribbon; they woro fancy straw hals, with wreaths of blue daisies, and carried tiny bunches of pink rases. The bndugroom. was attended by-Mr. ißert Bunny, as best man.-and Dr. Miicllae as groomsman. Tho ijridegrooni's present to the bride was a gold watch bracelet, and to the bridesmaids pearl and turquoise slides and pendants. A reception was afterwards held a: "Lltmdali," the residence of the bride's mother. The reception rcoms were beautifully decorated-. .-Mrs. Meredith (mother* of.the bride) was attired in a handsome black satin gown, trimmed with bands of jet insertion, black lace' bojnet, trimmed with jet and tulle, and she 'carried a beautiful bouquet of white and mauve (lowers. Mrs. Cameron (mother of tho bridegroom) wore a black voile dress, over grey silk, grey and silver bonnet, and earned a bouquet of heliotrope flowers.' Mr. and Mrs. Cameron left by motor-car in tho afternoon for the north. The j bride s travelling costume was a coat ] and skirt of pale blue cloth, strapped with Oriental braiding. With this she woro a black tagel straw hat, trimmed w.itn large blue ostrich plumes. Wedding at Napier. In St. Augustine's Church, on January *, -Miss Juauita Breuchky, daughter of Mrs. U. JUreucliley, "Whurenangi," Hawke's Bay,'was married to Mr. H. Ct. Leopard, eldest soa of Mr. and Mrs. 11. Leopard, of Tinakori Koad, Wellington. The bride, who was given away by iier father, was gowned in ivory white Irish popiin, trimmed with beautiful lace. Sho wore a wreath of oran»e blossoms and a veil of embroidered net, and carried a s-heaf bouquet of white sweet peas. Miss Francis Leopard, sister of tho bridegroom, and Miss Zilla Brenchley, sister of the bride, wore bridesmaids' 1 rocks of white silk poplin, with touches pf pule blue, and blue and white picture hats; each carried a cluster of sweet peas. The-Rev. Canon T. Tufco performed the ceremony, and Messrs. S. Forne and G: Brencliley attended as best man and groomsman. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Leopard left for Wellington, en route to the Cold Lakes, where tho honeymoon is to be spent. Rose and Carnation Show, The lioso and Carnation Show, heM at GodbiT s Kooms, Cuba Street, last night, was one of tho most successful displays which the society has yet given. Mr. Jackson, of Vogeltown, "exhibited some' very iino gladioli, Mr. Chapman, the Hutt, a beautiful group of btgonias, whilst the carnations shown by Messrs. Waugh, Jeffery, Fox, Hood, and Mrs. Gore were especially perfect both in form and colour. Dr. Arnold Izard presided. The Convalescent Home. A meeting of the Convalescent Home Society was held at Mrs. Dr. Newman's residence yesterday, whoa there were present: Mrs.'Newman (in the chair), and Mesdnmes AVest, Knowles, Litchfield, Barren (treasurer), and E. Nathan (secretary). The matron reported eight patients admitted and ten discharged during tho month. Gifts have been received from Mesdames A. Pearco and Godley, and Misses Widdop, Halse, and Hinds. The Kia Ora Centre nf the Girls' ltealm Guild has presented fruit. ■
A Pleasant Function, On Moiulav afternoon, between twenty and thirty ladies of the Election Committee of Mr. Vi. C. Buchanan, M.l'., assembled at tho residence of Mr. O. AV. Deller, Tyne Sheet, Carterton, ami Mr. Buchanan, in a short speech, sincerely thanked them for their efforts on his behalf. A very pleasant afternoon was spent, and a number of ladies who were unable to be present sent apologies and regrets. ooncert Party al Porirua. The official visitor for Porirua Mental Hospital took a pleasant concert party out there on Tuesday night, and the concert was greatly enjoyed bv tho patients. Ihe party consisted of Me-danies Gardiner and Mitchell. Messrs. Blandford, iletclior, Peterson, M'Cormack, and Borneo Gardiner. Miss Mary Richmond is returning to Wellington towards tho end of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Whitlock, of England, arrived in Auckland this week; also Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Paterson, of Melbourne. Mrs, and Miss Jameson leave by the Main Trunk on.Thursday for Auckland. Madame Bocufve is giving up her house at Kelburno very shortly, as she intends residing at the bay for the rest of the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dearsley, of Ecmuera, Auckland, returned home last week after an oight months' tour of England and the United States. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Hirst, of Auckland, recently left for an extended motor tour through the North Island. They intend motoring to this city via Rotorua, Taupo, and Napier, and returning by way of AVauganui, Mew Plymouth, anil tho AVaitomo Caves, Mr. anil Mrs. T. Dwan. returned from Sydney by the Moeraki yesterday. Also Mr. and Mrs. M. Myers and family, who have recently arrived from England. Mrs. and A[iss Collins, who have been motoring in the AVairarapa, have returned to- town. Mrs. Holdsworth camo back from tho south yesterday morning. Mrs. G. Frost and daughter were also passengers by the Maori. Miss Mabel AVhisiiaw, who lms been spending the holidays in Featherston, returned to Dann-ovirke yesterday. Mrs. E. AV. Scaton and Miss Scaton, who have spent the holidays at Piclon,aro now back in Wellington.
