SWIMMING.

MEETING OF LOCAL CENTRE. A meeting of tho Wellington Centre of the N.Z.A.S.A. was held at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening. Mr. J. A. Atkins presided, and the meeting was attended by Messrs. A. A. Sommerville, W. G. llorpeth, R. Baker, — Mitchell, E. Levy, and JS. J. Fleming. The Wellington Club were granted permission to hold a. night carnival early in February, at the Tβ Aro Baths. It was decided to write to the City Council asking that the 10s. 6d. tickets (yearly) be available for both tho council's baths. At present the. position is that, if a person purchases a ticket at the To Aro Baths, he can only use it at those baths.

Messrs. Atkins and H. Blick were appointed,to represent tho Wellington Centre at the conference of swimmers to be held at Christchiirch in February. The Old Boys Club were granted permission to hold their annual carnival' on I'ebruary 10 instead of February 17. Messrs. G. Sadd, A. A. Somnierville, and R. Healy were npr.ointed a polo selection committee, to pick a polo team to reliresent Wellington in (he matches to bo held at Christchiirch for the championship of New Zealnml.

The following committee was appointed to revise the rules—Messrs. Atkins, Blick, Wilton, and Somnierville.
