THE FULLER CASE.
UNION RETIRES. COUNCIL HEARS OTHER SIDE. CHARGES DENIED, HAS THE UNION BLUNDERED? Inspector Fuller's case came, once more, before tho City Council last evening. About SO people, many of whom were tramvraynion, occupied seats at tho back of the Chamber. The Acting-Mayor (Couucillov J. Smith) presided. Also present wore: Councillors L. M'Kenzie, A. H. Himknarsh, J. Godber, F. Cohen, W. H. P. Barber, A. K. Atkinson, J. Trevor, J. E. Fitzgerald, K. Fletcher, E. A. Cameron, and G. Shirtcliffe. Inspector Fuller attendod, and was accompanied by his counsel, Mr. A, L. Herdman. ■ The Acting-Mayor called upon tho Town Clerk to read the letter (already published) from the union, and also tha letter dispatched (by tlio council's instructions) in reply. He referred also to tho moro detailed list cf charges which had been forwarded to councillors, and to Inspector Fuller as confidential documents. These were not made .'available to tho press. Tho Acting-Mayor then moved: "That the action taken by the council informally bo adopted tho council in opeu meeting." ' Councillor Hindniarsh raised on objection to the effect that this could not bo done, unless notice were given. . Other councillors agreed that, as the informal meeting had merely ratified what had been done at a previous mooting, it was not necessary to further refer to tho business.
Iho Acting-Mayor did not proceed with tho motion, and Councillor Shirtcliffo then moved: "That the letter from the union ue received." This motion was carried.
