THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Present indications are for unsettled and clondy weather, with rain generally, and heavy with rivers rising northwards of New Plymouth and Napier. A cyclone appears to bo passing in tho north, and easterly and south-easterly winds aro probable generally—strong to gale in the north, and squally at times in the South Island. The winds aro likely to change to tho west short--1 ly, for a westerly storm area developing, and due to pass in the south about Friday. Barometric pressure has decreased steadily in tho north, and has been unsteady sljewhere. Easterly and south-easterly winds predominate to-day, with increasing force, and changeable, cloudy, and showery weather has prevailed. B. V. PEMBEETON. Meteordoirical Office.
