In tho presence of half a million people in tho maidan their Majesties King George and Queen Mary witnessed pageants, the first of which represented tho Mohammedan New Year's Day procession of Nurshidabad of a hundred years ago, and tho second a procession of Hindu Dasahara princes from thirty States. These contributed to the spectacle, which took an hour to pass a given point, and which included 57 elephants and 35 camels.
