MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Riddel], S.M.) Business at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning was transacted in a few minutes. William Kennedy was charged with breaking into Clouston's Bond, at Blenheim, on December 21, and stealing therefrom a quantity of tobicco, beer, and spirits, valued at .851. On the application of Chief Detective Brobcrg, the accused was remanded to appear at Blenheim this morning. On the information of Magnus Badger, .Tabes; Woold ridge was charged with breach of a prohibition order at Lower Hutt. The case was adjourned to the-next sittings of the Magistrate's Court at Lower Hutt on February 5. George Broughton 'was convicted and discharged for drunkenness, while for procuring liquor during, tho currency of a. prohibition order, he was fined X 3, in default 14 days' imprisonment. Frank Harris, charged with drunkenness, was fined 205., the alternative being three days' imprisonment. A first offending inebriate was convicted and discharged.
