HEAVY SUPPLIES OF PEACHES. Vegetables -of :.<ill' classes, ..and peaches were in very heavy supply at yesterday's sales at tho Allen and JBlnir Street markets. Peaches particularly* have ; been rushed on to tho market in large quantities, the supplies coming froni Frimley and Motncka. The - Sydney boat's shipment, of-fruit was not a heavy one . this week, and consisted practically solely of water melons and piiwipples, tho latter soiling at lis. per case. Local fruits are arriving in fair quantities. Yesterday's prices for poaches were Is. lid. to 3s. 3d. pel' case. Apricots sold at ss. to 7s. (id. per case, nectarines Is. 3d. to 4s, Gd. case, black dessert plums 3s. 'Jd. to Is. (id. per case, cherry plums 2s. (id. case, gooseberries, 4s. case. 'Grapes brought Is. to Is. id. per lb., and tpmntoes 6d. to 7(1. per lb. A few raspberries arrived, and commanded 55., 6d. to (is. Cd. per bucket. Tongan bananas sold at Cs. _U(1. to 7s. Cd. per caso, and Fiji consignments 9s. to lis. per case. Tho market was overstocked with vegetables. • Potatoes made 3s. Gd. to 4s. 6d. per cwt.; cabbage, Is. (id. to 3s. sack; cauliflower, ss. to 7s. Gd. sack; parships, 4s. Cd. to as. sack;.beetroot, Is. sack; Is. to Is. Gd. sack;' lettuce, 3s. to 4s. Gd. ' caso; onions, ;£l2 to <til 2 IDs. per ton; French beans, 2d. to 2.Jd. lb.; rhubarb, ■25.-to 3s. dozen; and cucumbers, 4d. to 9d. each. The market was glutted with ■green peas, which sold at Gd. to 3s. per part sack. F;ggs have receded ill value., quotations being Is.-2d. per dozen.
