The "Daily Telegraph," in discussing Mr. Ilenniker Heaton's proposal for penny-a-word cables, says-.—"By all means let us have communication compatible with necessity and common sense; but there is no need of a reduction te a penny, and no probability of it being attained. If it is to, wireless we must look for cheapness, the prospect of its competition discourages any cut-rate policy on tho submarine lines."
