MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
An all-day picnic was held in Ihe Missions to Seamen Institute yesterday, a Inrgo number of sailors ■ being' present. All kintls of parlour games were' held, uiider the difeciinn of Mr. 1\ S. Shell, the missiorier. The following won prizes: Messrs. Alsop, Whaler. Kilsar. Shaw, Towns-end, Griffin, Rcthel, anil Nelson. A lugV-uar was-keenly contested by llii» men. An. impromptu concert' was 'held iti the evening, several sailors contributing item*, and selections were given on .1. "grunianhonc, kindly lent by .Messrs.' Bcgg and Co. The lunch and* ten wore provided by the choir and friends of the Mission, ;ind the prizes were donated by Captain and Mrs. Konning, Mr. Aldoiis, and Mr. Burgess. The sailors gave jiearty cheers to all who assisted in making the day such a pronounced success.
