Other advices stale that, another boat containing the captain and nino other men of the Askoy's crew has reached Noumea. All on board are thus accounted for. (Rec. January 2, 10.5 p.m.) Sydney, January 2. The Askoy'a survivors had a strenuous experience, and wero in ft bad state through exposure and shortage of food. They state that tho ship was driven on tho Elizabeth Reef last Wednesday during thick weather. All are destitute, as they were unable to savo anything from tho wreck. A message has been received stating that tho captain's boat was picked up by tho Villo de la Ciotat on Sunday, and conveyed it to Noumea. The Askoy was bound from South America to Newcastle in ballast. (Rec. January 3, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, January 2. Tho Askoy was carried on the reef at 11 o'clock at night by strong currents at high water. It was impossible to shift the vessel. Nothing was seen of the reef before striking. The Askoy was a full rigged iron ship of 1610 tons register. She was built in IS7B to tho order of J. Marcussen, Riser, Norway, by Messrs. Barclay, Curie, and Co., of Glasgow. She was 255 ft. long, 38ft. beam, and 24ft. deep. The Ville de la Ciotat is a Alessageries Maritimes steamer, bound from Marseilles to Sydney.
