That time-honoured feature of " New Year's Day, the Lyttelton Regatta, was held to-day, and both in the attractions it offered- and in popularity was easily' up to tho standard of the regattas of previous years. The results'" of tho rowing races are as follow;:— '. .' > Senior Pair Oar.—Lyttelton-, 1; Union, 2; Canterbury, 3.' Union No. 2 also started. ' / Junior Pair Oar.—Akaroa, 1; Union, 2; Canterbury, 3. Canterbury No. 2 and Sumner also started. Maiden Pair Oar.—Lyttelton, 1; Union, 2; Canterbury, 3. Avon, Canterbury, Sumner, Akaroa, and Avon also started. Youths' Pair Avon, 2; Akaroa, 3. Avon and Canterbury also started. Senior Double Sculls.—Union, 1; Union, 2; Akaroa,'3. .- , Junior Double Sculls.—Akaroa, 1; Sumner, 2; Canterbury,-3. ' Lyttelton also started. Maiden Double Sculls.—Union, 1; Sumner and Avon, dead heat, 2. Canterbury -Nos.-l and 2 and Lyttelton also started. Youths' Double-Sculls.—Avon. 1; Union, 2; Akaroa, 3. Sumner and Cure also started..
