MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

A short silting of tho Magistrate's Court was held yesterday morning to deal with Mich- cases as demanded attention. Kva Jtiiry Vine, who had had a term of rest and ((uiot, and medical treatment on remand, and Henry Taylor, who had a like experience, were each ordered to pay ITs. lid. expenses. A<la EdwaTds, for drunkenness, was fined 10s. Six first offenders were dealt with in the usual wav. Jchn Henry Brookes, who had contravened tho provisions "of e. prohibition order, was fined J.'2, in default seven dnv s * imprisonment. .'Henry Unibanr. for refusing to quit the Masonic Hotel when requested eo to do on Silturdny. and for having assaulted Sergeant ■ M'Crorie afterwards, was fined in all Jl3, or in the alternative seven davs' imprisonment.
