DRINK AND CRIME.
INCREASE IN WEST AUSTRALIA. By Telesrrapn—Press Perth, December 29. The Police Commissioner, in his annual report, states that there has bfeen an alarming increase of crimes due to drink. Fifty-three per cent, of all tho offences committed arose through drink, compared with 47 per centum for the previous year. He urges more drastic licensing laws.
