MUSEUM, PHILADELPHIA. ■ A letter from the Agricultural Department hn.s I)mh received by Mr. Krnc-st Short, of Veilding (says the "Star"') stating (hat the Government'Juus'been invited ■to send samples of New Zealand wool for the commercial mu-eum at Philadelphia, United .Stales of America, for research purposes. Tho letter points out l.hal if satisfactory results arc .obtained, it will h> culculat«l to entourage the. importation of New Zealand wool into America, which would be of inestimable ltfuclit to Dominion growers. It ,wim. particularly important Hint the fleeces should not be skirted, the samples should bo carefully docketed with the name and variety or species from which \t was derived, no branding marks to l>e usod, and fcbp, condition of country where the wool was raised, i.e., us to plain or mountainous, elevation aliovo spa level, etc. In explanation of these particulars it is pointed out that America has a great dcul of high country, and it is probable (hat tho research of thp museum auCoritios is based on tho fact that: wool grown in ii high altitude will wear better in a similar altitude. Mr. Short is semiing twenty fletee.-; from Iwo-rooth Ifmnnpy stud ewes, shorn in September last. The Government will prepare, (he fleeces and forward them to America.
