THE NEW HEBRIDES.

« PARTITION PROPOSALS. • By Telegraph-Prose Association-Copyright Sydney, December 26. Judge Roseby, British ' representative on tho Condominium Court of tho New Hebrides, has arrived in Sydney. He refuses to discuss the statement "that a proposal that Trance and Britain should divide possession of tbo Now Hebrides is being considered. The "Herald" says that whatever the proposals are something must be done, as the condominium is manifestly a failure. "Australia must be consulted," adds the paper. "We should feel chagrined if a division left Britain weaker in the New Hebrides, even if it strengthened her elsewhere. We should let the British Government knosr how far we are prepared to go if money is required."
