Wedding at St. Thomas's. A quiet weddinf: took place at St. Thomas's Church, Wellington, on Thursday morning when Miss Millicent Nevill Penny, youngest daughter of J. B. Penny, of Roy Street, was luarriecl to William li. J. Haase, of Wellington. The Rev. AVynne-Bond was the officiating clergyman. Mrs. l<. W. Hawkins, -sister of the bride, .played tho wedding march. Tho- bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. J. E. Penny, wore white satin ckarmeuse with an overdress of figured net, and carried a bouquet of orange blossoms. The bride was attended by Miss Kathleen Bellett and Miss Agnes 'ilause, both maids wearing white embroidered muslin and black hats. Mr. Harold Reid was best man and Mr. Geoffrey- Withers was groomsman. After the ceremony a family gathering was held at the residence of the bride's parents. At St, Mary's Home at Karori. A quiet but very pleasant Christmas was spent at St. Mary's Homo at Karori on Monday. The wedding of Miss Edith F. Tattle and Mi. Harold E. P.ther took place at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. .and Mrs. George Tattle, of Lipinen Street, ou Lccember 12. The ceremony was performed by the Kcv. Mr. Chapman. The bride w /! 3 Bi™»- away by her father, and was attended by Miss Eva Tattle (chief bridesmaid) and Misses Eileen Norwood, Ida Scirle, and Mabel Eraser. Mr. W'. ERgleston acted as best man. The- weddin* was a quiet but very pretty one. Christmas at the Hospital. It was 41 very bright and happy Christmas that was' spent by the inmates oftho Wellington Hospital on Monday All the nurses were up at an exceptionally early hour setting the patients ready for tho day, and decorating tho wards with flowers and foliage so, that everything might be completed by tho timo tho hospital was thrown open to the many visitors who came to call upon their sick friends and relatives. Christmas is. an occasion upon which the whole staff of the institution, nurses, doctors, and all, devote themselves to tho patients, with an unquestionably successful result. Gifts and all sorts of delightful extras had been purchased with money sot aside for the purpose, and there was not a patient to be found wlio had nut received something pleasant in the way of Christmas gifts, not a child who was not tho happier for unexpected treasures bestowed upon it. In addition to the gifts, \vhich had been purchased by the board, there were many donations of delicacies and useful thing? from many kind friends. On Christmas I've, the festivities began by the nurses visiting the different wanis and singing carols, and again, on Christmas Day, nujinbers of the church choirs visited the hospital, and the patients had the pleasure of. listening to more carols, with which they were delighted. The Christinas dinner was not by any means the least cf the celebrations, and those of the patients who were on , extremely simple diet were greatly commiserated by their fellows. Altogether, it was a very cheerful, very pleasant, Christmas time at the liospital. Miss T. I. Hetuerington, headmistress of the Burwood Ladies' College, Sydney, is visiting her sister in ■Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. AA'. Kennedy are spendin" Christmas with their daughter, Mj-s. Wilson, in AVaiiganui. Mr. and 'Mrs. Henry'(Masterton) with their children are staying at S&ntoun. Mr. and Mrs. S. Noble-Campbell (Masterton) and their children, are staying fit Plimmerton. Mrs. S. R. Gyles le.ives early next week for Wanganui and Eltlu-.m, and will join her daughter, Miss Ethel 1 ,, . Gyles at Mountain House, Mount Egmont. !
