The action of tho Speaker, Mr. Willis, in suspending Uio chief of the Hansard slaft" on his own iuitiutive has met with tho combined opposition of tho Labour members, many of whom nre joining with tho Liberals in openly denouncing his socalled despotism. The peculiarity of tho position is Hint nobody knows exactly how to remove Ihe Speaker. Tho point lias never arisen before. Tlio general opinion is that the House must dissolve. A WIGGING FOR MB. WILLIS. (Kec. December 25, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, December 2,i. A lengthy Cabinet meeting was held yesterday to discuss the iSpeakership trouble, Mr. Willis being present. It is believed that as a result of tho meeting the Cabinet has given Mr. Willis to understand that the present- position of affairs in tho Assembly must not continue.
