Present indications arc for changeable and showery weather generally, strong westerly winds prevailing northward of Wcstport and Kaikoura, and easterly and south-easterly winds elsewhere. "AVager"—No official statement as to the number of hotels in New Zealand which have been transferred to "dry" areas as a result of tli.o alteration "of electoral boundaries is to be obtained cither from the Justice Department, which administers the Licensing Act, the Alliance, or the Licensed Victuallers' Association. At least five hotels, however, have been so transferred. Tho hotels affected, other than those at Porirua and Pahautanui, are at Te Aroha, Waitnti, and AVaipori. Possibly there are others. A number of hotels transferred to "dry" areas by tho Boundary Commissioners were afterwards reinstated in license districts.
