WADESTOWN FIRE.
A fire-roomed dwelling at Fitt Street. Wadostown, was totally destroyed by fire last night. The house, which was a' very old oue, was owned by tlio trustees of the IWsroe Estate, and was occupied bv Mrs. Moffatt. At the time of the outbreak the building was unoccupied, Mrs'. Moft'att beins at a friend's house and her son being in tlio city. Some residents notice?} the fire about, in ]i.in., njul the brigade were communicated with. Two firemien arrived from Northland .later, and a chemical engine was sent from the citv, but it was impossible to save anything. and house and contents were demolished. Fortunately for (lie residences on either side, Mrs. Mofl'att's house was surrounded by green trees, and, as (here was verv little wind blowing at the time, the flames were prevented from spreading. At midnight flic fire wa« stili burning.' but the firemen then had it confined to very narrow limits.
