On Monday, December 25, and Monday, January 1, Christmas and New Ycar'a Days, tho Postal Department will be closed in all its branches. On the abovenamed days mails dispatched by steamers will close'at 0.30 a.m., also by trains for the AVa'irarapa, Taranaki, Wanganui, Ifangitikei, Slanaivatu, Hawkc's Bay, and Auckland districts will closc at 6.30 a.m. There will not bo any clearances of tho city receivers or deliveries by lettercarriers on the above-numed days, but on Saturduv, December 23 and December 3ft, there will be full afternoon deliveries by the lettcr-cnrricrs, closing at the chief post ofiico at 1.10 p.m. On the abovenamed Saturdays there will bo deliveries by the letter-carriers at the Drill-shed from 8.30 to 0.30 p.m., and the parcels department will bo open from K. 30 to !).30 p.m.; also deliveries over the public counter at the chief post office from 8.30 to (1.30 p.m., of correspondence addressed to the post, ofiico only. Kstra clearances will bo made as follow:—All city receivers will be cleared al G p.m.; Wellington South, lvilbirnie, and Hataitai receivers at 5 p.m.; and suburban ones at ■1.30 p.m. On Tuesday, December 2(i. Boxing Dny, Ihe Postal Department will be open in all its branches 'except the money-order and savings bank departments) from 11 lo 10 a.m. Slails dispatched by steamers, and mails for the Auckland district per Slain Trunk train, will close at 0.15 a.m.; mails by trains for I lie Wairarapa. Taranaki. Wansaniii. Raiiffilikei, Slanawatu, and llawke's liny districls will close at (5.30 a.m. The lelteroarriers will make one full delivery, elnsinu at tho chief nosl oflire al 7 a.m.. The city receivers will not bo clcarcd during the day. ■
