On the above-named days mails dispatched by steamers will close at 6.30 a.m.. also' mails by trains for tho Wairarapa, Taraiiaki, Wanganui, Rangitikei, Ma.na.watti, Hfiivke's Bay, aud Auckland districts will-close-at 6.30 a.m. There will not lie any clearances of - the city receivers or deliveries -by letter-car-riers on tho above-named days, but on Saturday, December 23 -and 30, there will be full afternoon deliveries by the lettercarriers, closing at the Chief Post Office at 1.40 p.m. On tho a.bove-named Saturdays there will bo deliveries by tho lottercarricre at tho Drill-shed from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m., and the Parcels Department will bo open from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m.; also deliveries over the public countor at the Chief Post Offlcc from. 8.30 to. 9.30 p.m. of correspondence addressed to the Post Office only.
