The Shaw-Savill steamer lonic reports that whilst rounding Capo Horn, Mrs. Kato Hare, a -widow from Now Zealand, in a sudden frenzy flung her mother, Mrs. Herdman, to the deck, and then vaulted overboard. The woman's skirts kept her afloat until a lifeboat rescued her, but she died afterwards.
