Charles Peel, aged forty-three, residing at tho Thames, and who had been working on a contract at Duck Creek, Hauraki Plains, took a quantity of lysol. and was brought to the hospital in an uuconscious: condition. Ho lingered for some hours and then died. Deceased had been despondent of late. Dr. Walsh, Medical Superintendent at the Thames Hospital, deprecated the indiscriminate and unrestricted sale of such a deadly poison as lysol. He thought the authorities, in the interest of the public, should take some action. The inquest has not concluded. APPAEENTLY kuFFOCATED. ■ Auckland, December IS.
