MILITARY TOURNAMENT.
The annual military and naval tournament will bn held on the show grounds, J'almcrston North, on rfatmdav. December 30, and Monday. January lVSplendid entries have conio to bund, more especially in tho mounted events, which usually prove ?o interesting lo the- public. In the.=n will bo competitors from all parts of the Dominion, and it therefore wnis likelv that tho events will bo verv keenly contested. Anion.'; the competitors Inking part will ]><• several of the new instructors from Home—a circumstance which will lend additional interest to the tournament. A feature is to l>? made of the night display, tho olectric lighting and searchlight being in tho bands of experts of tho N.Z.U.A.. and it is intended to innke this part of tho tournament as interestiii" as iiossihle. Arrangements havn boon" made for a Fpecial train to lenvo for Wellington and mtornifdmtc stations after the nHit display Tho first, day of the tournament will be principally devoted to running off heat?. . loavins "people's day" free for Uk finals. There will bo three brass bands in attendance.
