TOWN HALL OPENED. Tlio new Town Hall af Miramar ffas op-sued on Saturday afternoon by the Mayor (Mr. John lirodic). Among those present were Mr. W. 11. D. It would no doubt be an inducement to people to Bottle in the borough, and would be much used for social evening, which would tend to produce pleasant intercourse and good fellowship. There was every indication that tho population of the borough would increase very rapidly during tho next year or two, owing to the rapid progress of (hu Gas Company's works. Tho risiug ot the brick smoke-stacks gave the place an air of industrial activity, and no doubt tho Horougli Council would early in the your brjjiu to hold its fortnightly meetings in l!ie Council Chiuubrr atta'clicd io the hall, and thus the ratepayers and electors would have every opportunity of nttending Ihn meetings. The Mayor also expressed Hie council's iippreciutio'n of the work of (he architect (Mr. Gray Young) and tho builder (Mr. Day). Mr. Hell, M.1 , ., who wns very well received, addressed the gathering*, lie expressed admiration of the new hall, nnd forecasted a grout future for Miramar ns mi industrial centre. Tho new hnll is situated in York Street, exnclly in the middle of the MirnMnr Flat.
