THE ISLAND BAY TRAGEDY.
CORONER'S INQUEST. An inquiry concerning the circumstances connected with tho death of Nicholas E. Lopez, a dairyman, who was fatally gored ■by a bull at Jlolrose on Tuesday evening last, was held by the District Coroner, Dr. A. W. M'Arlhur, £Ot., on Saturday morning. SlntionScrgeant Darby represented tho police. Mrs. Lopez, wile of deceased, blated that her husband left home übont 7 o'clock on tho evening in question, to round-up (he bull, which had been sold. Somo time after the animal came up lb the house, anil witness was unable to get nut. Vinally she threw stones at it,and was ;il))n to escape and look for her husband, but it was not until next morning that his body was found in the paddock. The bull was subsequently shot by a constable. The coroner's finding was to tho effect that the deceased met his death through being gored by a bull.
